Found this recipe online and have made it over and over. I substituted Golden Syrup for sugar free maple syrup. Also added finely chopped apple and use a sugar substitute. The family love them and are quick to whip up.
Maple syrup as substitute for golden? Would that work?
Great recipe. I bake this recipe once a month and use honey instead of sugar.
I have made these muffins for years, keep in the freezer and take to work. Microwave well during day. Double fruit and use anything in cupboard. Chopped dried apricots or figs, fresh bluberries, dried cranberries, grated orange peel and/or lemon, dates, sultanas, raisins, chopped or whole and mixture of anything of the above. Also add chopped nuts or mixed seeds as option. Always works.
Delicious muffins. Very moist. I’ve made them 3x and they taste just like the ones I made in school cooking class in the 70’s
I thought exactly the same thing. Bran muffins was one of the first things I baked in cooking class. These taste the same.
This says it makes 6 muffins but says it serves 24! Pretty mean servings 1/4 of muffin each!!! come on Mum!
Hi there! Recipe says 6 muffin pans… so the amount of individual muffins will vary depending on the size of the pans and how many muffin cups they have in each 🙂
I made 12 good sized muffins. Doubled the sultanas! Great recipe and quick to make . Thanks.
Great recipe. No butter or oil which makes them healthier, yet still moist. Delicious. My family loves these bran muffins.
😂
Instead of white flour I use half a cup wholemeal and a quarter cup white flour and only 2 tablespoons of sugar with the syrup included.
Instead of sultanas dates work excellent as well!
A healthy delicious muffin!
