Apple crumble is probably the kiwi version of apple pie – a dessert classic. Luckily for us, its much easier to make then a pie!
This recipe puts a new twist on an old classic by substituting for some healthier ingredients – the result is a great tasting recipe which is also paleo friendly and gluten free!

Ingredients
Crumble
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup almond meal
- 1/3 cup quinoa flakes
- 1/3 cup slivered/flaked almonds
- 1/3 cup Shredded coconut
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
Custard:
- 100 grams raw cashews
- 400 ml water
- 100 ml coconut cream
- 80 grams maple syrup
- 1 egg
- 30 grams tapioca flour
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
