Delicious Hot Dip - Endless Serving Possibilities!
This is such an easy dip to make
All in one - mix it together and chuck it in the microwave!!!
There are a number of different ways to serve it, I will include my tried and true but it's really up to the imagination.
This recipe came from trying a few different things and combining the best.
Hot dip is not the most original name but it’s what it got named and it stuck!

Ingredients
- Dip:
- 1 - 2 pots of cream cheese (light, or not)
- 2 spring onions
- 1 green capsicum
- 1 red capsicum
- 1 clove of garlic
- 4-5 drops of tobasco sauce
- 1 cup of cheese (tasty, colby, edam or mild)
- Serving Possibilites:
- Cobb Loaf
- Pita Bread
- Garlic Salt
- Cucumber
- Rice Crackers
- French Stick
Directions
- Dip:
- Place cream cheese into a bowl. Use 1 or 2 pots depending on how much dip you want to make. Other ingredients can be adjusted if you please.
- Thinly slice spring onions and add to bowl
- Cut capsicum into small pieces and add to bowl
- Crush garlic and add to bowl
- Add 4-5 drops of Tabasco sauce.
- Grate the cheese (which ever variety you have available) and add to the bowl.
- Put in the microwave on high for one minute.
- Remove and stir.
- Keep heating and stirring in 1 minute intervals until the dip is hot and cheese is bubbling around the edges.
- Serve as you please.
- Serving Possibilities:
- You can serve this straight out of the bowl you have cooked it in if you please or transfer it to something a bit more fancy.
- It is great in a Cobb Loaf, hollow out the loaf and use the bread pieces from inside for dipping. (You may need to use 2 pots of cream cheese for this, depending on the size of the loaf.)
- Possible dipping things…
- Pita Bread – these are delicious and easy to make. Cut the pita bread circles into 4’s or 8’s (depending on the size). Spray with olive oil spray and sprinkle with garlic salt. Bake or grill in the oven until crunchy and golden brown.
- French Stick (crostini) – Same as the pita bread but thinly slice the French Stick.
- Cucumber Sticks – absolutely delicious and makes the dip feel healthy!
- Rice Crackers – good to get out when the other options have been gobbled up.
