This is a very very old recipe given to me by my mother in law when I was first married 53 years ago I have passed it on to so many people, gooseberries being one of our oldest berries I just love making it and it is just delicious.
- 6 lb green Goosberries
- 51/2 lb sugar
- 1 lb onions
- 3 ozs ground cloves
- 2 ozs salt
- 1/2 gallon vinegar
- Boil all ingredients slowly 1 3/4 to 2 hours
- Strain and bottle
