Golden Sausages

This recipe was handed down from my grandmother to my mother to me. It was my favourite recipe because of the sweet and sour taste and the ease at which it could be prepared.

  • Paste Mix 2 tbspn Flour 1 tbsp worcester sauce
  • 2 tbsp Vinegar 1 tbsp Sugar
  • Medium diced onion
  • Medium grated carrot
  • 2 cups Boiling water
  • 500g Sausages


  1. Mix the above ingredients to a smooth paste, add 2 cups of boiling water, pepper & salt to taste. Pour over 500g Sausages in a casserole dish. Sprinkle with onion and carrot. Cook slowly, about 1 and a half hours at 160 degrees Celsius.
  2. Serve on a bed of rice or with your favourite vegetables.
