Donna's Chicken Fried Steak


For the steak lover, amazingly tender and tasty. Easy to prepare and can be served with anything you like.
Everyone that I have cooked it for loves it.

Ingredients

  • Rump Steak
  • 1/2 cup Flour seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp Cream
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Gravy
  • Sliced Mushrooms.
  • 1 cup Chicken Stock
  • 1/2 cup Cream
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • Hot Sauce optional.

    Directions

    1. Trim Steak and cut into serving sizes.Beat eggs and cream together. Coat Steak in seasoned flour (save remaining flour for gravy) then place in egg mix making sure is is well covered. Leave it to marinate for 10 minutes turning occasionally. Roll in breadcrumbs
    2. Heat oil in frying pan to medium-high
    3. Cook Steak for 3 minutes each side or depending on preference.
    4. Let stand for 10 mins before serving
    5. For the gravy, lightly saute mushrooms in pan juices.Add butter if needed. Remove from pan, Stir in 2 Tblsp on flour and mix well. add chicken stock and worcestershire sauce. Bring to boil. stir in cream. serve over Steak.
