Selectah me just make de muffins, but me dreads get in de way!Are you allowed dreads in de ragamuffins?

    hey jody... good one...
just one point of clarification, spelt is technically a type of wheat so you can't really call these muffins wheat-free... though of course some people who can't eat regular wheat are fine with spelt.
jeez, can you tell i work at piko? haha.
    good luck with the comp.

hi Eroica, thanks for the info. and yip, i know, but as you said, some wheat allergy people can tollerate spelt. obviously the recipe can be made with wheat flour or other flours people use. and honey instead of maple - but remember that heating honey kills it's healthy properties :)

If summer ragga-muffins taste as good as they look and sound, then you deserve to win. In Christchurch spelt flour is sold at Piko - a great whole-food store, in Chch and Lyttelton.

Sorry Spelt/Dinkle flour is not Gluten free. As much as I could wish it was..

hmmm, the recipe doesnt say 'gluten free', it only says wheat free.

    Spelt *is* wheat.

hi beast. not exactly... spelt is spelt. even when it's spelt backwards. yes, spelt is a form of wheat. it's like saying honey is a sugar syrup. yes it kind of is, but it's kind of not. some people are allergic to wheat, but not spelt. which would suggest that they have a different make up.

Hi Jody...your recipe looks yum but just wondering if it'll work ok without nuts and bananas as i'm allergic? Or is there a substitute??

The recipe, the video and the Music is gorgious!
If you want to update it to glutenfree just use millet-flour! I tried it out. Millet is glutenfree AND basic(alkaline) so another plus to this RaggaMuffiNZ-recipe. And caused by its soaking characteristics it even fluffs up the dough even more!

Way to go! What an original video clip; absolutely loved it :D Good luck!

banana has never sounded so tasty as in this recipe-song. trillion is a smart man.

These muffins are delicious.I made them with plain flour and they turned out fine. Best of luck!

Any stewed fruit can be used instead of banana as long as you get the quantity right

Hi Jody....if they are anything like the video the muffins have gotta be good.
