I love eating.
I am a big fan of baking and desserts and have recently learned that you along with loads of other kiwis are buying ingredients at your local supermarket to prepare your favourite dishes at home versus buying prepared dishes. Well done! I have tried making several of the top recipes and many hidden treasures and have enjoyed reading and sometimes responding to your comments. I am looking forward to reviewing more of the last minute entries as well as your comments in the coming days.
Interesting ingredients from the Hawkes Bay.
I am currently in Hastings at the Hawkes Bay A & P Show and have been preparing dishes with some interesting ingredients a la ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’. Today I flash roasted a duck breast and served it with spiced pears and a mole′ sauce of a crunchie bar melted with sour cream, chilli sauce and avacado. The dish was so tasty that we beat the team led by Paul Holmes. Yesterday was Weet Bix, mustard and cinnamon encrusted lamb racks and tomorrow I am demonstrating the science of how to plate your dish. But, more on that next week.
Thanks for sharing your favourite recipes and to all those who have prepared and voted – well done.
