Welcome to a new national competition to find New Zealand's favourite recipe.You can read about the competion here
Information or directions on how to enter and prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering into this promotion you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read the information below.
What are the competion dates?
Competition starts 31 August 2009 and ends 8 November 2009. (Competition Period). No votes or comments will be accepted after this date. Recipe submissions close 25 October 2009. (Submission Period) No recipe submissions will be accepted after the end of the Submission Period.
What can I win?
Major Prize = $5000 first prize for the recipe with the highest number of votes. In the event of a tie the amount will be shared equally among the number of winners.
Prizes of $1000 for the recipe with the highest number of votes in each recipe category excluding the Major Prize.
Ten prizes of $1000 for the next ten recipes with the highest number of votes across all categories.
One hundred $100 grocery vouchers to be awarded by way of Prize Draw.
How do I submit my recipe?
Only your first name and location will be displayed on the site. Recipes must contain a title, description, ingredients and category. You can submit as many recipes as you like.
Recipe Copyright and originalityRecipes must reflect your own original creative flair and must not be taken from someone else. Everyone gets their cooking ideas from different places. A list of ingredients is just a list of ingredients but it's how you put it together that counts! When you submit your recipe for this competition please ensure it reflects your own original creative contribution. If you copy someone else's recipe and use it in this competition we will immediately remove the recipe and you could be liable for damages.
Can I submit a photo?
No. It's all about taste, rather than presentation!
Can I enter by mail or phone?
We know it's not ideal for everyone, but entries can only be submitted online.
Screening and editing recipes?
Recipes will be automatically screened for inappropriate language and content before being posted. Recipes cannot be edited by the owner once published. If the recipe has been published, click the "Submit a Correction" link at the bottom of the recipe directions. You don't have to be the person that posted the recipe in order to suggest a change or add information.
The Promoter may deny publication, edit or remove any recipe at its discretion, without notification to the submitter of the recipe.
The Promoter will remove recipe submissions that are attached to a non-valid email address.
Comments?All recipes are open to public comments. Comments will be automatically screened for inappropriate language and content before being posted. The Promoter may deny publication edit or remove any comments at its discretion, without notification to the submitter of the recipe or commentator.
Can't decide upon a category?
Don't worry, just choose a category that is the most appropriate. If in doubt, here's a guide:Baking & Desserts
Sweet or savory. Things to go with a cuppa or a sneaky treat. Pudding, Pikelets , biscuits, muffins, scones, slices, loafs, sweets, bread, tart, flans. ice-cream , cheesecakes, soufflés and mousses. Baked Delights!
Any main meal from roasts, casseroles and stews, stirfrys to lasagna or macaroni cheese, BBQ favourites, hamburgers, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Indian .....and not to forget Kiwi tucker. Pukka pies, pizzas, pasta, everlasters. Any ingredients, meat or meatless, just the main meal of the day.
Snacks & Light Meals
Side dishes meat, seafood or vegetarian. Salads, green, white, any colour, vegetable or fruit or vegetable and fruit! Chips, fritters, light snacks for the chilly bin or lunch box sarnies or sammies which ever way you cut it! Quiche (this is with an h not a k).
Starters & Extras
Morning to meal starters plus those little extras that add flavour. Muesli, pancakes, porridge, morning cook up eg eggs bene. Soups, finger food, fancy entertaining thingies, dips, spreads marinades, salad dressing, sauces, chutneys, pate. Preserving i.e. fruit, jams, (aren't the jars cool!). Drinks (smoothies, juices, party drinks.)
How do I vote?
Simply find a recipe you like and click on the 'vote' button and follow the directions. Voting requires a valid email address.
Can I vote more than once?
You can vote for as many recipes as you like, however voting is limited to one vote per recipe, per email address i.e. you cannot keep voting for yourself or someone else off the same email address. Nor can you vote on 'behalf' of others, votes must be verified by the email owner. If we see attempts at increasing votes we will remove the votes and recipe at our discretion. The Promoter will remove votes that are attached to a non-valid email address
The Promoter reserves the right to vary any of the terms of entry applying to this promotion or to modify, terminate, suspend or reschedule this promotion.
Exclusions and Liability
The Promoter is not responsible for any recipe submissions or votes not correctly entered or for entries received after the Competition Period.
The Promoter is also not responsible for any phone, line, network, and/or server technical failure involved in any communication concerning this promotion.
The Promoter is not responsible if any winner cannot be contacted using the details entered.
The Promoter is not responsible for the transmission or receipt of any incorrect information associated with entries, either caused by user error or any equipment or programming malfunction associated with the promotion.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of the recipe submissions or votes and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the submission and/or voting process, or for submitting an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
The Promoter and its related companies, employees and agencies shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury (including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss) suffered by any person arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with entering this promotion or claiming/winning any prize, except as required by law.
The Promoter and Progressive Enterprises Limited accept no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from winning a Prize.
Use of Personal Information
All entries remain the property of the Promoter and Progressive Enterprises Limited. All personal information will be collected and stored by the Promoter in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993. You have the right to access your personal information and request correction of any errors in it pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993. The Promoter and Progressive Enterprises Limited may use entrants' personal information from submissions, voting and commenting to conduct the promotion and for their own future promotional and publicity purposes including but not limited to email marketing by the Promoter and its Fresh Choice and SuperValue stores. The Promoter may publish your details and/or your recipe in other media for the purpose of promoting this competition without further notice or compensation to you.
By entering this promotion entrants consent to the use of their information as described above.
The Promoter's decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
